The New Orleans Bigfoot Society (in partnership with the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus) is pleased to present an “Open Community Forum on the Dangers of “Bucky” the Lake Monster: Tips for Keeping Your Family Safe” at Live Bait Bar and Grill in Bucktown on September 17th.
This night of interstellar lunacy on the high seas features Eat Moby Dick Moby (EMDM) fresh back from their tour of the South China Sea. Headlining the night will be the rowdiest band of scurvy dogs in the New Orleans Metro area… the Valparaiso Mens Chorus. Sea shanties and rum swilling are sure to ensue. N.O.B.S. will also be holding a “Win Your Own Sea Monster” raffle contest. All proceeds benefit the continuing cryptozoological research of N.O.B.S. and the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus’ flying saucer development fund.
We’ve seen a rash of bizarre phenomena in the New Orleans metro area this summer including the roaming packs of chihuahua eating coyotes and the City Park Bigfoot incident. Recently, photographs emerged of a creature that looks remarkably like the Loch Ness Monster in Lake Pontchartrain. Since most of the verified sightings have occurred near the site of the new Bucktown marina, N.O.B.S. has dubbed this creature “Bucky’.
The creature is most likely a plesiosaur that was forced from the open sea by the same phenomena that has also contributed to the rise in bull shark populations in Lake Pontchartrain. N.O.B.S. speculates that “Bucky” lives on a diet of manatees and the occasional unfortunate motorist who crashes into the lake from the Causeway. “Were going to get to the bottom of this mystery”, says N.O.B.S. head researcher and spokesman Dr. Xavier Jenks Phd. “Now that we’ve solved the Sasquatch riddle, its time to start probing the depths. Mark my words… we’ll be having plesiosaur eggnog this holiday season”.
$7 at the door. Nautically appropriate costumes encouraged. Doors at 9pm. Pirate songs at 10ish. Sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum.
